As a child, I would sit for hours beneath the horse chestnut trees where I grew up — drawing, reading, dreaming, watching the seasons turn. I sat there all year, but when chestnut season came, something stirred more deeply. The plentiful and rich pouring of chestnuts felt like a quiet kind of magic.

I was enchanted by how they kept themselves hidden — you could not force them open. If you tried, the chestnut inside would still be forming, unfinished, not yet itself. But when the moment was right, the casing would fall open on its own, revealing a singular, polished treasure. No two alike.

I think of craftsmanship in the same way — and life, too. You cannot rush what is meant to unfold with care. You must wait for the season. Then, when it opens, it reveals something whole, true, and rare.

CASTELLAINES was conceived during a serene morning walk in Paris — born from a profound yearning to cultivate a creative haven and a visionary desire to establish a distinguished house where craftsmanship, imagination, and artistry converge flawlessly.

Inspired by the notion of anchoring this house on a square — une Place — it became CASTELLAINES on Place Castellaines: a space where ideas take shape and come to life organically.
